That’s about it. If you’re coming from the East or West, you’re probably on the 70 already :)

Non car options!

A taxi ride will run about $50 door to door. Super Shuttle’s are usually a little less than a cab.

There’s car services a plenty that can be reached, but cab or super shuttle are the most cost effective, and traffic shouldn’t be an issue on a weekend. You’re getting here in time for the Free hands-on training right? It’s free to all registered attendees, no additional cost.

Register now, and make sure you sign up for one of the free Sunday training options.

360iDev – Get Yer Game on!

Chuck Smith brought up a great idea, and we’re more than happy to help support and promote it.

What is it?

iPhone Game Tournie! The two current suggestions are Worms(iTunes Link), and Tap Tap Revenge(iTunes Link) but Chuck is open to other suggestions. Leave a comment if you’re intersted or wanna propose a different game.

For our part Tom and I will help figure out how to set up something so everyone can watch some of the heats on the big screens around the conference.

So if there’s a game you’re pretty bad ass at, let us and Chuck know so we can get this bad mama jama ironed out!

GAME ON!

Can’t play unless you’re there! Register now to be a part of the best iPhone conference in the country! See you in September!

360iDev – Hotel info

For those that might not have seen it, we wanted to make sure everyone knew, there IS a special hotel rate for attendees! The Curtis Hotel is the official hotel of 360|iDev, and we highly encourage everyone to stay at the hotel.

We don’t get any more from the hotel or anything like that :) It’s more a matter of we have a room block that needs to be filled. We’d rather use our budget to buy cool things for attendees, not pay a room block shortage fee.

Plus, we party hard, and we party late, do you want to have to stumble to your hotel or just stumble to the elevator? Believe me, there will be stumbling! So you might a well minimize the distance to travel!

So click here for all the details about the official hotel of 360|iDev!

Not registered yet? Why not!? Waiting for a price drop? Not gonna happen. Waiting to ensure the conference is happening? Oh it’s on! Its on like Voltron! Tickets are moving fast and waiting only raises the possibility that you won’t get in! Register now!

If you’ve never checked out the Curtis, it’s by far the most interesting and character filled hotel you’re gonna find in Denver. It’s a great place, with tons of fun!

360|iDev Amazing Announcement, Part 2: Mike Lee to roam the show floor!

So you’ve all heard by now that Matt Drance is keynoting Monday morning.  That’s an “Amazing Announcement” for sure, but what about our last keynoter? Many of you will remember that Mike Lee kicked us off last time, but then had to leave.  We couldn’t blame him though as he then went to sign his new hire paperwork with Apple HQ.

Well, today we have some big news, bmf’ing news to be exact.  Yup, you guessed it, Mike Lee (aka @bmf aka “i <3 Obj C”) will be back to 360|iDev.  He’s not going to be keynoting though.  He’s passed that baton on to @drance.  No, instead, Mike’s gonna do what Mike loves to do: talk code with people.

I think this tweet from Mike’s twitter stream sums it up quite nicely.  To be fair, he was on his way to iPhoneDevCamp 3 but it’s still the truth:

I spend all week fixing code at work, then I go out on the weekends and fix code for free, because I love what I do, and I love developers.

That’s the kind of man you want to bump into at a conference.  For those that aren’t familiar with Mike Lee, he worked on Delicious Library, helped found Tapolous, and then went to work at Apple.  That and he obviously loves coding and developers.

We chatted with Mike early in the planning stage for the Denver show. He said his current employment position prevented him from participating in the show, but that nothing prevented us from enabling him to come out and talk code.  As he put it, “To be honest, that’s gonna be worth more to people than me talking.”  You gotta love a man who knows his strengths.

You heard it right.  If you are stuck with your code, want to learn a more efficient way to do things, or just want to know why Objective-C is so great, Mike’s gonna be there to comfort you.  The thing that you’ll notice quickly is that not only is Mike smart, but he’s also one of the nicest guys in the world.  After keynoting our first show, he left us a hand written thank you note.  People like that are rare, and so are opportunities to hang with them.

There’s only one way to guarantee that you’ll be able to talk shop with Mike.  That’s to head over to the reg page and buy your ticket.   Oh, and don’t forget, you get an additional 40+ iPhone development sessions by top notch techies.  Did you forget that it’s only $499 to attend too?  Talk about a bargain!

360|iDev Amazing Announcment, Part 1: Matt Drance to Keynote!

Matt Drance, a former iPhone and Mac Evangelist, has agreed to kick off the show at Monday’s keynote.  Matt recently left the mothership, i.e. Apple HQ.  When asked why he did so, he had a pretty obvious response: to become part of the amazing community.

What better place to engage the iPhone community than at 360|iDev, the premiere iPhone developers conference .  Quite literally, minutes after the twitterverse got wind of Matt’s departure, we reached out to him.  John and I do these shows so the members of the iPhone community (new and old) can come together meet and learn from one another.  We knew that Matt would be the perfect candidate to get our “party” started.

It took a little while to work out the details, i.e. having Matt’s people call our people.  (Just kidding, neither sides has “people” LOL)  However, yesterday stars and planets aligned.  We finally hooked up and solidified the deal.

We and Matt are stoked to be announcing this.  Mike Lee kicked off the show last time and he, to quote our friend @chews, “was on like Donkey Kong.”  People loved his keynote as it was just oozing with goodness.  The best part was the closing, “Now, I’m off to the mothership to become a full-time employee.”  Now, it’ll be interesting to hear what Matt has to say coming from the other direction.  (Speaking of Mike Lee…the title of this post is Amazing Announcement Part 1.  Could there be a part 2? Stay tuned!)

With little more than a month left ’til Matt’s keynote begins, you’d better figure out someway to get yourself there.  First step, register for the show.  The worst thing you want is to get all excited and then have the show sell-out from under you.  Act fast as I’m sure you won’t regret it.

360iDev – The Speakers – Amanda Wixted and David Cairns

I met Amanda briefly at WWDC at House of Shields, begging her to submit a topic for 360|iDev. That’s about all I remember actually, but clearly it worked!

When she submitted her session, we knew we’d want her and David to present. How could we pass up, ”Getting Started with iPhone Game Development“? Clearly gaming on the iPhone is huge, huger than I ever thought it would be, actually. But my wrongness on that topic didn’t impact wanted the best people possible to present on the topic, and so here’s Amanda and David!

Learn the basic concepts and code architecture behind casual mobile games. We’ll walk you through a demo game that uses OpenGL ES and you can keep the source! Amanda and David work for the two top iPhone game studios (Zynga and ngmoco:) – learn from the best!

Amanda and David are experts in their field for sure! We had actually heard Amanda’s name before meeting her and it was my aim to meet her at WWDC if at all possible! Mission accomplished, and now she’s coming to Denver! No pressure girl! you’ll rock it :)

Register now, you’re waiting? For what? Better price? you missed that boat. Confirmation the conference is happening? Oh it’s on son, on like Voltron! So why wait? The hotel block is filling fast, tickets are moving fast too, are you really gonna risk us selling out and you not getting in?

360iDev – Mad Props to our Sponsors!

I wanted to take a minute to congratulate our current sponsors on being awesome!

Not only have they signed on to be a part of the best iPhone developer conference ever (yeah that includes the last 360|iDev!) but they’re great companies!

Make sure to thank each one when you see them at the conference!

If you’re wondering if sponsorship is right for you, ask yourself this. Do you want to meet a few hundred iPhone developers? Do you want more than just a logo on a big sign in the main hall? Do you want to have a physical presence developers can stop by and talk? Do you want your brand on something they’ll use every day? Do you want to meet and interact with some of the biggest names in the industry during a speaker/sponsor dinner the night before? If any of that garnered a ‘yes’ or even a ‘mmm sounds interesting’ check out our sponsor packet. Our sponsors are more than just purses with logos. they’re our business partners and we do everything we can to make sure our events meet their needs.

Register now! Waiting doesn’t get you anything and space is filling up fast! Don’t miss the iPhone developer conference of the year!

360iDev – The Speakers – Joe Pezzillo and Dan Burcaw

Push is the next new big thing! As more and more apps begin implementing push notification, it becomes clear that the need for the back end infrastructure is going to go through the roof!

360iDev – The Speakers – PJ Cabrera

I’ll admit this session tickled my fancy. I love the idea of add-on inputs and displays, that take the work off my main display(s) and do a specific job.

PJ Cabrera will be talking about that and more in his session, “Using iPhone to provide optional input/output and location services for Mac OS X applications

I’d love to have my iphone docked and giving me (already possible I know) system details on my network, CPU, RAM, active processes, etc. Why not also be able to be a ‘torrent status’ monitor etc?

And input? Well I think the simplest example, is a multitouch trackpad, where your mouse would be, awesome for those of use, using our macbook (Pro)s in a docked fashion on our desk.

Using Bonjour and Wi-Fi, it is possible to hook-up a Mac OS X Cocoa app to a Cocoa Touch app running on iPhone or iPod Touch. The Cocoa Touch app could use its screen, multi-touch, accelerometer and/or Core Location APIs to provide optional input / output services or location services to the Cocoa app running on a Mac. This session will explore this alternative use of an iDevice for input/output services and location services for Cocoa apps. A few small sample applications will be demoed to demonstrate the concept and fire up the attendees’ imaginations.

The possibilities are endless for sure, I can’t wait to see what sample Apps PJ has cooked up for us. Don’t miss this session!

Register now! Don’t miss out on the best iPhone developer conference in the country (world?). You’re not going to find more iPhone developers in one place, outside of WWDC! Don’t delay! Tickets are moving fast!

360iDev – Your logo on a shirt!

We don’t always do shirts, because we think it gets old. I love free t-shirts, but a shirt for the sake of a shirt, is less appealing. Plus we like to be different. Twice now for 360|Flex, we’ve done really nice polo shirts, with sponsor logos.

Well for our first 360|iDev shirt, we’re going t-Shirt, but we’re going t-Shirt in style :)

shirtI spoke to the guys behind Exploded Phone yesterday, and am really excited about this shirt, normally our shirt design is kind of a secret, but this is just too cool to wait that long.

Oh and the “Your Logo here” well our shirts are sponsored, so if you’re looking to have your logo on a kick ass shirt, worn by a few hundred iPhone developers, might be worth looking into :) just ask us about shirt sponsorship.

I will keep the phrase on the back a secret. Tom had an awesome idea for that :)

Make sure you get your official 360|iDev shirt Register now!
