360iDev – Hotel info

For those that might not have seen it, we wanted to make sure everyone knew, there IS a special hotel rate for attendees! The Curtis Hotel is the official hotel of 360|iDev, and we highly encourage everyone to stay at the hotel.

We don’t get any more from the hotel or anything like that :) It’s more a matter of we have a room block that needs to be filled. We’d rather use our budget to buy cool things for attendees, not pay a room block shortage fee.

Plus, we party hard, and we party late, do you want to have to stumble to your hotel or just stumble to the elevator? Believe me, there will be stumbling! So you might a well minimize the distance to travel!

So click here for all the details about the official hotel of 360|iDev!

Not registered yet? Why not!? Waiting for a price drop? Not gonna happen. Waiting to ensure the conference is happening? Oh it’s on! Its on like Voltron! Tickets are moving fast and waiting only raises the possibility that you won’t get in! Register now!

If you’ve never checked out the Curtis, it’s by far the most interesting and character filled hotel you’re gonna find in Denver. It’s a great place, with tons of fun!

360iDev – The Speakers – Amanda Wixted and David Cairns

I met Amanda briefly at WWDC at House of Shields, begging her to submit a topic for 360|iDev. That’s about all I remember actually, but clearly it worked!

When she submitted her session, we knew we’d want her and David to present. How could we pass up, ”Getting Started with iPhone Game Development“? Clearly gaming on the iPhone is huge, huger than I ever thought it would be, actually. But my wrongness on that topic didn’t impact wanted the best people possible to present on the topic, and so here’s Amanda and David!

Learn the basic concepts and code architecture behind casual mobile games. We’ll walk you through a demo game that uses OpenGL ES and you can keep the source! Amanda and David work for the two top iPhone game studios (Zynga and ngmoco:) – learn from the best!

Amanda and David are experts in their field for sure! We had actually heard Amanda’s name before meeting her and it was my aim to meet her at WWDC if at all possible! Mission accomplished, and now she’s coming to Denver! No pressure girl! you’ll rock it :)

Register now, you’re waiting? For what? Better price? you missed that boat. Confirmation the conference is happening? Oh it’s on son, on like Voltron! So why wait? The hotel block is filling fast, tickets are moving fast too, are you really gonna risk us selling out and you not getting in?

360iDev – Mad Props to our Sponsors!

I wanted to take a minute to congratulate our current sponsors on being awesome!

Not only have they signed on to be a part of the best iPhone developer conference ever (yeah that includes the last 360|iDev!) but they’re great companies!

Make sure to thank each one when you see them at the conference!

If you’re wondering if sponsorship is right for you, ask yourself this. Do you want to meet a few hundred iPhone developers? Do you want more than just a logo on a big sign in the main hall? Do you want to have a physical presence developers can stop by and talk? Do you want your brand on something they’ll use every day? Do you want to meet and interact with some of the biggest names in the industry during a speaker/sponsor dinner the night before? If any of that garnered a ‘yes’ or even a ‘mmm sounds interesting’ check out our sponsor packet. Our sponsors are more than just purses with logos. they’re our business partners and we do everything we can to make sure our events meet their needs.

Register now! Waiting doesn’t get you anything and space is filling up fast! Don’t miss the iPhone developer conference of the year!

360iDev – The Speakers – Joe Pezzillo and Dan Burcaw

Push is the next new big thing! As more and more apps begin implementing push notification, it becomes clear that the need for the back end infrastructure is going to go through the roof!

Veteran iPhone application developers Dan and Joe have formed a new company push.IO

Push it Up! Implementing Apple’s Push Notifications for Fun & Profit!” Is sure to be an eye opening session. Showing developers what’s involved in implementing push. It’s not as easy as flipping a bit, so this session will be a must see for those looking to implement push in their apps, and unsure of the next steps, or where to go for the backend support they’re going to need.

Just take a look at the session description.

Dan & Joe walk you through how and why to add push notifications to your application, what’s required on the server side with plenty of working sample code and specific examples to guide you through every step of the process. After showing you how to implement it yourself, they explain how their new company Push.IO is helping developers make it easy to scale.

360iDev – Your logo on a shirt!

We don’t always do shirts, because we think it gets old. I love free t-shirts, but a shirt for the sake of a shirt, is less appealing. Plus we like to be different. Twice now for 360|Flex, we’ve done really nice polo shirts, with sponsor logos.

Well for our first 360|iDev shirt, we’re going t-Shirt, but we’re going t-Shirt in style :)

shirtI spoke to the guys behind Exploded Phone yesterday, and am really excited about this shirt, normally our shirt design is kind of a secret, but this is just too cool to wait that long.

Oh and the “Your Logo here” well our shirts are sponsored, so if you’re looking to have your logo on a kick ass shirt, worn by a few hundred iPhone developers, might be worth looking into :) just ask us about shirt sponsorship.

I will keep the phrase on the back a secret. Tom had an awesome idea for that :)

Make sure you get your official 360|iDev shirt Register now!

360iDev – iPhoneLife Magazine

il_logo_sm_web

We’re thrilled to have iPhoneLife magazine with us as a sponsor. I mean, we’re iPhone developers, it’s a magazine all about the iPone, I can’t think of a better fit! Like Peanut butter and jelly, Pickles and ice cream, sardines and Fluff… ok well not that last one :)

iPhoneLife is a great magazine! We were able to give every attendee a copy at our InsideMobile conference this past Monday and it was my first exposure to the magazine, it’s great!

Even better, you can check it out for free!

We’ll have a copy for every attendee as well, but why wait?

360iDev – More than just sessions

I’ll be honest, this came as no surprise to me. 360|Flex has been the launch pad for all sorts of things, and I’m thrilled that the same phenomenon is taking place with 360|iDev.
The sessions (40+) are top notch, they rock, the speakers rock, and missing them is definitely not wise, but unlike events where you’re with 5000 other people who may or may not be iPhone developers, the person next to you at 360|iDev is going to know the pain of waiting for app store approval, the challenges of working with accelerometer, etc. They’ll be an iPhone developer.
That type of community allows for some truly awesome things to be created. Things like App Treasures, created by attendees of 360|iDev in March, who got to talking while there.
An Indie developer game development label.
Here’s a little blurb from the press release.
Five independent iPhone game developers announced today the creation of the App Treasures label: A collection of top-quality, indie games for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

The App Treasures label is a seal of quality that consumers can trust, and will help users find hidden gems in the App Store. When someone plays an App Treasures game and they like it, chances are they will also like the other games available from the label.

Developers releasing games under the App Treasures label are carefully considered and hand-picked to ensure maximum quality.

The App Treasures members are:
• The Blimp Pilots (Koi Pond, Distant Shore)
• Imangi Studios (Imangi, Word Squares, Little Red Sled)
• Snappy Touch (Flower Garden)
• Streaming Colour Studios (Dapple)
• Veiled Games (Up There, Payday Roulette)

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
You can also email the entire group at: info@apptreasures.com
That’s just so cool! I hope to see more things born of 360|iDev very soon. September is going to be an awesome month, everyone will be fresh out of WWDC (next week) and cranking out 3.0 apps and games. It’s gonna be a bang up summer with lots of cool stuff.
Don’t miss out. If you missed 360|iDev in March, check out the awesome speakers and sponsors we had. We’re definitely building a lot of momentum as THE event in the iPhone community and want to continue that, we love hanging with everyone in this community, and look forward to more awesomeness!
