360iDev – Community goodie give away!

As we approach 360|iDev 2011, we’re cleaning house. Literally, it’s my house and all the conference ‘stuff’ is in the garage. You may or may not know we’ve had the shirts from Austin available for purchase since we got back, they’re an awesome deal, and a great wa to get a one of a kind shirt even if you missed the conference.
BUT we’ve got a lot of them. Oh and we’ve got 360|MacDev shirts too (You can buy one here if you’re so inclined) in case you weren’t able to make it. Both shirts are one of a kind, and other than the ones I’ve got in my garage, won’t be made again.
So…
If you run a cocoaheads, or other NSsomething group, and want some give aways for your members, and have about $11.00 to spend, we’ll stuff as much as we can in a USPS flat rate box and ship you shirts and maybe a koozie or two, and whatever else we’ve still got laying around that is 360|iDev. Even some books.
Why $11? well shipping ain’t cheap, and while we love and support the iOS community, 360|conferences doesn’t make enough money yet to pay my salary, so shipping boxes around the country just ain’t in the budget I’m afraid.
However the Flat rate USPS boxes are a great way to cram as much as i can into an affordable package for User Groups. If you want 2 boxes, it’s $22, etc, etc.
No strings, we just don’t want the shirts, etc to go to waste, and figured it’d be a cool way for User Groups to have more raffle goodies and giveaways.
All we need is an email with the following information.
Group Name:
Shipping Address:
Attention:
Paypal Email address:
How many boxes:
Send that to. info AT 360idev DOT com.
When we get the email we’ll send a paypal request and the box will be on it’s way.
We’ll do a random sampling of sizes and qty in each box, sorry it’d be too much overhead to allow groups to customize the order.
Of course if  you want a specific size, you can still order one :) At least until we’ve shipped them all out.
Please spread the word. We hope to get rid of all the shirts and make room for new ones :) We like having them around, but they take up space, and we figure it’s better to give them to anyone who wants them. Plus I won’t lie, better on the backs of iOS developers than in boxes in my garage!

Don’t forget too! You can register now for 360|iDev 2011 in Denver, CO. The price will never be lower than right now. The moment we lock in the exact dates, the price goes up. Don’t worry, tickets are completely refundable if the dates don’t work for you once we announce them.

360iDev – What to do when you arrive

We’re not GDC, or WWDC. There’s no waiting in a mile long line to get in, there’s not sea of thousands to wade through to get your badge.

What there is, is 3-4 people working the registration desk.

You can pick up your badge all day Sunday if you want to avoid the rush. If you can’t make it to Ebay Town Hall until Monday morning, we recommend getting there by 7:30 to avoid missing the keynote by David Whatley of Critical Thought Games (You know, Geo Defense Swarm…)

The registration desk will be broken down into letter groups by Last Name.

Schedules will be printed out and in your bag.

See this post for the shuttle schedule, and general how to get around San Jose information.

Our iPhone app, has a map of Ebay, the complete schedule, and your session survey app.

It’s not too late (but it almost is) to register for 360|iDev! Don’t miss out, register now!

Apress is the Official Sponsor of 360|iDev

Today we’re very proud to announce a new partnership with Apress as the Official Sponsor of 360|iDev.

This is a very important announcement for a few reasons:

  1. It’s a great fit: Speakers will pretend like they can’t possibly fill up one of our 80 minute slots, but they do.  Afterwards, they find out that they have a whole heck of a lot more to say.  What better place than a book to say that.
  2. Free books: What developer in their right mind doesn’t like free books?  Not to mention that, but we’re talking quality stuff.  (Note: Tom’s read 2 of Apress dev books and loves ‘em)  When you’re the official sponsor that means you bring a whole lotta books. :)
  3. Bigger Reach: 360|iDev is slowly making inroads as far as reach goes.  Granted, we don’t have name recognition like WWDC does, but we’re slowly getting there.  With Apress, we can hopefully reach a lot more developers out there that can benefit from the conference.

Having an official show sponsor is a new thing for us.  It’s something that we’ll have to investigate and grow, much like everything we do in relation to the shows.  The most important thing for us though is making sure that the official sponsor is a great fit for our attendees.

We’ll be honest.  The concept/idea wasn’t ours.  We’ve been chatting with the folks at Apress for the past couple of weeks in an attempt to expand their participation at the event.  From editors to marketing folks, everyone we’ve chatted with has been awesome!  It’s therefore with great excitement that we announce them as the first Official Sponsor of 360|iDev.  It’s a relationship that we hope will continue to grow and evolve as the show does.

For those of you waiting on the sidelines, wondering if this show will be a good fit for you, wait no more.  With Apress as the official sponsor, this edition of 360|iDev is going to be that much better.  Register now and join what’s sure to be a great event.

360iDev – Your logo on a shirt!

We don’t always do shirts, because we think it gets old. I love free t-shirts, but a shirt for the sake of a shirt, is less appealing. Plus we like to be different. Twice now for 360|Flex, we’ve done really nice polo shirts, with sponsor logos.

Well for our first 360|iDev shirt, we’re going t-Shirt, but we’re going t-Shirt in style :)

shirtI spoke to the guys behind Exploded Phone yesterday, and am really excited about this shirt, normally our shirt design is kind of a secret, but this is just too cool to wait that long.

Oh and the “Your Logo here” well our shirts are sponsored, so if you’re looking to have your logo on a kick ass shirt, worn by a few hundred iPhone developers, might be worth looking into :) just ask us about shirt sponsorship.

I will keep the phrase on the back a secret. Tom had an awesome idea for that :)

Make sure you get your official 360|iDev shirt Register now!
