This talk covers what is wrong with mobile technology interviews, hiring and compensation, and how to survive in the job market. Unlike most industries, interview questions for mobile engineers, managers, and product managers have very little to do with the actual job or tasks once hired. Candidates have to endure ridiculous mental calisthenics and tests of technology and behavior, to make it through each round of interviews. Imagine if you had to explain injection molding and plastic’s fluid dynamics when the job is really just playing with Lego. Under the shadow of the “Great Resignation”, it would appear that now is a great time to re-evaluate the work you are doing and who you will do that work for or with. We’ll pull back the curtains and dig in.
