You’ve become a Swift guru, and would prefer to use Swift in every way you can: mobile apps, back end with Server Side Swift, Realm for Swift data persistence, etc. Your life is complete, there’s no need to learn any other programming languages! But if you never traveled, never experienced new cultures / cuisines, and ate the same things and did the same things your whole life, would you ever feel like you missed out on anything? Perhaps a different perspective? A different way of looking at the world? Another way to solve a problem? How would you even know what you don’t know?
Believe it or not, there’s a whole world out there beyond Swift! I will show you the benefits of learning multiple languages, both in the programming and the human world. By comparing language constructs in Swift with other programming languages, and showing their analog equivalents between English and another language that I speak, I hope to show you how learning other languages (both human and programming) can greatly enrich your life and career.
